What did we do ten years ago before every one had the internet in their home? The answer to every question and solution for every problem is right at our fingertips. Thanks to our hughes internet I can find out anything I need to know. It’s especially handy when I’m trying to avoid a trip to the grocery storeand come up with a recipe using what I have in the pantry. I’ve found some new favorites as well as had some misses.

Fortunately my family is pretty forgiving and I typically keep a frozen pizza for those nights when recipes.com has steered my wrong. One of our recent favorites was a mango couscous. I had some cilantro left from making chili and salsa and hated for it to go to waste. Matched with a random jalapeno (also left from chili and salsa making) some thawed mango from the freezer and a box f instant cousous, it was just like something we would have in a restaurant, especially when I served it with a piece of grilled tuna!

The other day my boss sent me an e-mail and instructed me to “click here to keep my job.”What can I say? Is not the most verbose man in the world. As it turns out what he wanted me to do was find a way to streamline some of the technology at our office and now I feel really good about my position at the company. I feel like because I'm the youngest person here I have a lot of ground to cover and a lot to prove when it comes to pulling my weight at the office.

Who would've thought I could do all that in one fell swoop just by making sure I had all of our technology needs covered. I love being an assistant because I feel like I get to have a hand in everything and I'm not tied down to one particular job responsibility. When I was a teenager I wanted to be in showbiz but of course, the older I got the more ludicrous I realized that was. I wasn’t pretty enough to be an actress and I sure couldn’t sing or do anything useful like that so it just didn’t make sense for me to bend over backwards to try and become famous.

Now my TV involvement comes mostly in the form of checking on WWW.CANNONSATELLITE.COM to see what packages are available in my area although I AM thinking about getting involved in the local theater company at some poin in the near future. I’ve got some friends who do it too and if how much fun they tell me they have is any indication I’ve got a long way to go to really realize my full potential as a star – there’s nothing standing in my way, I guess, except my own insecurities and I’ve got to shake those sooner or later! Just ask my husband – I sing and dance all the time at home when no one’s watching!

Did you know that the oil and gas industry is booming in Dallas? So much that in parts of Dallas there is a huge supply of natural gas thousands of feet below the ground and a large supply of oil in addition to natural gas.

Since these resources are abundant, there is significant drilling being done in these areas and pipelines are needed to transport these resources. The safe an very effective way to do this is through hydro-excavation as this process meets the excavation needs of pipeline construction companies in these area. In short, hydro-excavation is safe digging with high pressure water and vacuum. This process is also referred to as soft digging or non destructive digging.

Hopefully this technique not only works well for the environment but also brings about more jobs and opportunities for people who live in and around the area.

Being Comfortable is Important When Working

I worked in the medical field for several years before becoming a stay at home/work at home mom and when I say the scrubs I had to wear were very uncomfortable, I speak from experience.

The scrubs I had to wear were unisex and very boxy - definitely not comfortable or flattering. I had always wished there would be scrubs made more for a woman and now there is. The more uncomfortable I was, the less I wanted to be at work.

Too late for me to enjoy but for any woman who is in the medical field, I found lab coats, scrub sets, and even nursing uniforms - these not only fit perfectly but are comfortable as well.

I logged onto http://www.satelliteinternetbroadband.com/hughesnet/Alabama/ and got satellite internet. We have never had internet at our house, but I usually just check my e-mail at work. Now that we have the internet, I was able to log on when tickets to our favorite event in Alabama became available.

Our favorite event is so cliché, but it is the Nascar race at Talladega. Usually, I try to make it to the ticket office and everyone who has bought tickets on line gets the best seats. We get descent seats, but not the ones that I would really like to have. So this year, I knew when they were going to be out, got on the internet and got great seats. We are right about the finish line about forty-five rows back. For a Nascar race, that isn’t too far back. You can actually see the track better.

Nascar is really noisy and it is better to be farther away from the track so that you don’t have to wear noise cancelling earphones. We just can’t wait for the race this year. It is going to be awesome!

The Internet is full of work opportunities and many people can locate an opening that suits his or her own requirements. Employers often publish preschool career listings any day of the week and career hunters no longer have to actually visit the potential place of employment to drop off resumes and fill out applications.

It takes much less time and effort to look for job online and it is possible to find new openings. If interested, the employer will e-mail you the subsequent times for a telephone interview or to invite you for a face to face interview.

Preschool jobs are fun but keep in mind, preschools are often low on preschool supplies so be prepared to have to ask for donations or supply your own.

Keeping 3 year olds busy might seem like a difficult task since they are always on the go and seem to have a never-ending supply of energy. This will likely be quite obvious on days where staying indoors is necessary instead of going outside. Luckily there are many enjoyable indoor routines for youngsters that will not only keep them entertained, but will also teach them a few things.

Traveling, for me anyway, is usually a vacation. A time to get away from work and relax. However, being a blogger means there is always something to write about. I find I have more things to blog bout while on vacation. In most cases, the blog entries I create while I am away are my most interesting posts.

Since I take my work with me, having a reliable and lightweight computer is important. I recently found one of those tables that is perfect for traveling along with me. I never used to actually take a computer with me because I have a 'smart phone' and can blog from my phone. I can even add images to the blog posts from my phone. While this is convenient, it really is not practical for me because I take forever to text/type using my phone.

I do have voice transcribing on my phone but I rarely use it. This is because one time I replied to a client via email and I said, "Thank you, Lisa." and my phone transcribed, "you suck" wow--what the heck?!

Do You Know Your Overtime Pay and FLSA Legal Rights

While we hope to help people find jobs working from home, we realize not everyone has the chance and therefore has to work outside the home. If you are one of these people, do you know the laws on overtime for the geographical area in which you work? Many people do not, yet they continue to work the overtime because they need to or because they are told it is 'mandatory' - however, is it REALLY mandatory?

The fact of the matter is, the state and federal laws (the Fair Labor Standards Act or FLSA) that govern an employee’s right to overtime pay are complex and often confusing. Along with the confusion, new overtime pay rules and regulations have gone into effect. Make sure you get all your questions answered and find out how you can recover the unpaid overtime pay that you are rightfully owed.

I hear stories all the time from people about how they worked so many hours of overtime, yet their paycheck doesn't reflect the correct amount. How is this possible? Is there something shady going on? The real problem is that they do not realize they have a legal right to know the answers to these questions AND get the money they worked hard to earn.
